I'm glad the Lord is so patient with me...Stephen Altroggehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11826671041931242233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6604927782599259689.post-84450765998178491652008-01-25T08:01:00.000-05:002008-01-25T08:01:00.000-05:00Wow Stepehn - what a needed reminder. Its so easy...Wow Stepehn - what a needed reminder. Its so easy for me to read about the children of Israel with an arrogant "how can they be so dumb" mindset and miss the fact that they are often a mirror into my own soul. But then, thankfully, the "light" comes on and reveals that their wickedness and forgetfulness is no different (or worse) than mine - I'm the same as them. Honestly, seeing my forgetfulness (or sometimes my blatant arrogance against the works of God) and then being reminded of the stedfast love of God, well...

it makes the character of my God so much sweeter. That He would choose to love me - a wretch. to think that there is no part of my sin that He has not completely forgiven... to realize that His blood paid for all my sins... those never-changing truths fill my weary soul with much needed hope and joy. Why? Because His power is at work in me. His strength and Spirit is what is bringing about my sanctification.

Thank you for (once again) using this blog to point me (and I'm sure many others) back to my hope in the person of Jesus and away from my sinful legalism and idolatry of my own "ability."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
